The following are but a few of the recent growth announcements by new and expanding Frederick County, Virginia, companies. The local business landscape is diverse, from large-scale manufacturing, operations centers, and logistics companies, to farms, agribusinesses, and boutique retail businesses.
Desi Fresh Foods

Desi Fresh Foods, a leading U.S. producer of dahi, or South Asian yogurt, and lassi, a drinkable South Asian yogurt, is investing a significant amount of money to open a new manufacturing facility in Frederick County, VA. The new facility will create 56 new jobs and allow the company to increase its current production while sourcing dairy ingredients from Virginia farmers. The Commonwealth successfully competed with Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia for the project.
Framebridge

Framebridge, the leading direct-to-consumer custom framing company, has selected Frederick County, Virginia, for its new manufacturing operation. The new Framing Studio is located at 155 Aviation Drive in Winchester. Once fully operational, Framebridge employees will custom build frames to meet customer specifications and then ship to both customers’ homes and 23 retail locations on the East Coast and Texas. The Studio will employ 65 employees with a mix of full- and part-time team members.
HP Hood

HP Hood LLC, will invest more than $83.5 million to expand its dairy processing operations in Frederick County. The expansion project includes upgrades to production and packaging equipment and construction of additional cooler and warehouse space. The project will enable the company to further grow its business while continuing to provide a local market for Virginia dairy farms through its milk cooperative network which includes the Dairy Farmers of America and the Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association.
WCS Logistics

WCS Logistics, a Winchester Cold Storage company, will invest $27 million to expand in Frederick County. The company will build a new 83,000-square-foot cold storage facility with the capacity for over 13,000 pallets to meet increasing demand. Winchester Cold Storage offers a wide range of storage options, including freezer, cooler, controlled atmosphere, tempering, climate control, dry storage, office space, lease, and build to suit. The project will create more than 15 new jobs.
ZM Sheet Metal

ZM Sheet Metal, a Frederick County manufacturer of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) steel components, plans to build a new 160,000 sq. ft. facility on 23 acres near its current facility in Stonewall Industrial Park. The production facility has capacity for up to 300 employees and will allow for continued modernization in positioning the company for continued long-term advancements.
Monoflo International

Monoflo’s expansion extends across North America. However, Frederick County, Virginia, remains the company's main location and headquarters, and they continue to invest in the region. In 2020, Monoflo broke ground on the Imboden production facility at their headquarters. This investment included the addition of five production machines to support increased demand and decreased lead times. Expansion continued in 2021 at the Stonewall Industrial Park facility, where Monoflo converted 32,000 sq. ft. of its 150,000 sq. ft. warehouse space into production to house six additional injection molding machines. These expansions increased Monoflo's head count across the board, soaring from 250 into the 300s. in 2023, Monoflo celebrated the grand opening of its new 325,000 sq. ft. storage and logistics facility, doubling Monoflo's existing warehouse space. The expansion allows Monoflo to convert previous warehouse space to accommodate additional production.
Evolve Stone
In 2021, Evolve Stone announced it would invest $1.25 million to add a second production line and triple its facility space in Frederick County to increase production for its major customers, which include 84 Lumber, Lansing Building Products, ABC Supply, BFS, and Home Depot. The project creates 84 new jobs. Evolve Stone is part of Evolve Services, one of the most prominent specialty composite manufacturers in the U.S., that also includes Evolve Play and Createk by Evolve Custom. Trex
In 2021, Trex celebrated the grand opening of its second Frederick County manufacturing facility, part of a $200 million investment in infrastructure, people and processes to increase capacity in its Nevada and Virginia manufacturing facilities. Also in 2021, Trex announced it would build its new global headquarters facility in Winchester, Frederick County's city center. Read the press release here.
Navy Federal Credit Union
In 2019, Navy Federal Credit Union, Frederick County's largest private employer, completed a $100 million expansion of its Winchester Operations Center. Navy Federal began operations in Frederick County in 2006 with 60 employees and has since expanded its presence to include three buildings, a parking structure, walking trails, and more than 2,500 team members.
