American Woodmark: A Leading Manufacturer in Cabinetry

Headquartered in Frederick County, Virginia, American Woodmark is one of the country’s largest manufacturers of home cabinetry. The company was formed in 1980 with just over 1,100 employees and three manufacturing facilities. In 1986, American Woodmark went public and moved its headquarters to Winchester, VA. They've been growing steadily ever since.

Today, the headquarters oversees more than 8,800 employees and 19 manufacturing and distribution facilities across North America. The company produces more than 10 million cabinets each year. Its product line spans 14 brands, with price points ranging from entry-level to semi-custom selections for designing high-end kitchens, baths, and home offices. 

American Woodmark brands are sold through big-box retailers such as Lowe’s and The Home Depot, dealers and distributors, direct to builders of single-family homes and multi-unit properties, a network of independent showrooms, and most recently, direct to consumers.
