    WoW! Receives Governor's Award

Worlds of Work (WoW!) has been announced as a recipient of the Inaugural Governor's Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Education, in the category of Community Partnerships and Collaboration.

Each year, nearly 3,000 seventh graders from seven school divisions explore career opportunities at the Worlds of Work expo in Frederick County.
WoW! is managed by the Lord Fairfax Community College Career Pathways Consortium, in partnership with Barrett Machine, Inc., Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission, Frederick County Economic Development Authority, Winchester Economic Development Authority, and Winchester Wealth Management.
Frederick County EDA Business Retention Manager, Sally Michaels, is an active planning partner in this annual workforce development event, an effort that directly contributes to the mission of the EDA's Career Pathways Program. The event would not be possible without the involvement of more than 70 business partners, numerous event-day volunteers, the support of seven school divisions (Clarke, Frederick, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, Warren, and the City of Winchester), and generous sponsorship.
